Powerage

Friday February 21st - Live Entertainment From 9:00 pm
Cost: Free

POWERAGE is the only 2 hour show 100% dedicated to the Bon Scott era of AC/DC (1974-1980). Playing all of AC/DC’s early hits such as “High Voltage”, “Jailbreak”, “TNT”, “Highway To Hell”, “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap”, “It’s Along Way To The Top”, “Let There Be Rock’, “Whole Lotta Rosie” and much, much more.

All members are passionate AC/DC fans and call the Australian Riverina home: Wagga Wagga frontman, Kelvin ‘Beetle’ Bailey, who’s vocals resemble that of Bon Scott’s, formed the band in 2009 alongside Graeme ‘Lingo’ Linquist and Phil Hogan of well loved Albury based band, Ledd Asprin. Alongside fresh recruits Shaun Webb and Ryan Nicholson, from well known Albury rock band IDLE FRET. POWERAGE is made up of a rock solid lineup of AC/DC diehards, perfect for the task of bringing AC/DC’s iconic sound to the Live stage.
Frontman Kelvin ‘Beetle’ Bailey was fortunate enough to rub shoulders with the members of AC/DC on two occasions during their 2008-2010 Black Ice World Tour. He and his family were flown to Barcelona, Spain to hang out with the rock icons back stage in June 2009. When the band came to Australia in Feb 2010, the rock legends personally phoned the family home in Wagga Wagga, inviting Beetle and his family to come hang out backstage at the bands Melbourne concerts. The members of AC/DC were extremely generous and humble, hanging out with the family before and after each show. AC/DC Frontman Brian Johnson even took one of Beetle’s sons under his wing, exchanging email addresses and remained in close contact for quite some time.

The band and their management loved that Beetle fronted an AC/DC tribute band. When lead singer Brian Johnson found out it was a Bon-Scott-Only show, he jokingly asked Beetle “Hang on, what about my songs?” It which Beetle replied “I love your songs, Brian! I just can’t sing that high, nobody can!”.
