‘Highly Commended’ Clubs & Community Awards 2026
SS&A has been named Highly Commended for Healthcare at the 2026 NSW Clubs & Community Awards, recognising our support of Albury Wodonga Health’s PATCH program — Paediatrics at the Child’s Home.
SS&A Highly Commended at the 2026 NSW Clubs & Community Awards
News we’re proud to share.
The award acknowledges SS&A’s funding of a purpose-built vehicle that brings paediatric nurses directly into family homes across our region, allowing children who are well enough to leave hospital to continue receiving expert clinical care from the comfort of their own homes. “This is an award we’re genuinely humbled by. The PATCH program keeps kids at home with their families instead of in a hospital ward — and that’s something everyone in our community can be proud of. Supporting initiatives like this is exactly what we’re here for. This recognition is as much the community’s as it is ours.” Gerard Darmody, CEO SS&A.
About PATCH
Launched by Albury Wodonga Health in late 2024, the PATCH program gives local families an alternative to extended hospital stays. Instead of spending days on the children’s ward, kids who are stable but still need ongoing clinical support can recover at home, with specialist paediatric nurses visiting them where they live.
In its first five months alone, the program kept more than 70 children out of hospital — that’s around 170 nights spent in their own beds instead of a hospital ward, with mum or dad just down the hall.
The brightly wrapped vehicle funded by SS&A gives PATCH nurses a dedicated set of wheels, meaning the program can reach more young people across Albury Wodonga and surrounds.
Why it matters to us
As a community club, everything we do comes back to one purpose: giving back to the community we call home. Over the years, many of our own staff and their families have experienced first-hand what it means to have a young child needing paediatric care — so this cause sits close to our hearts.
We believe families in our region deserve access to the same standard of care you’d find in the big cities, without the burden of travelling hours from home. Supporting PATCH is one more step toward that future — one where local kids get world-class care, and families stay close when they need each other most.
This achievement belongs to you
Here’s the thing about being a community-owned club: this award isn’t just ours. It belongs to every member, every guest, every person who’s shared a meal, caught up with mates, or celebrated a milestone at SS&A. Every visit helps us reinvest in the people and programs that make Albury such a special place to live.
So thank you. This recognition is yours as much as it is ours.
SS&A — This is your place.
